Nine out of ten public infrastructure projects end up being more expensive than anticipated. Why does this happen, and what can be done to improve the quality of public procurement? In this seminar professor Giancarlo Spagnolo at Stockholm School of Economics will walk us through his research on cost overruns in European public infrastructure projects. Further thoughts and comments are provided by Fredrik Brunes at the Royal Institute of Technology, Magnus Bergendal at the Swedish construction company Peab and Inger Ek, director general at the National Agency of Public Procurement.
